Chemical Munitions Instructor School
All non-certified law enforcement personnel will at a minimum have one-year experience with their agency prior to becoming an instructor and will not be a probationary employee. Supporting documentation is required. In order to attend an instructor class, you must provide proof of the following:
Chemical Munitions Instructor: (4) or more hours of previous Chemical Munitions instruction from an Iowa Law Enforcement Academy certified Chemical Munitions Instructor.
Certificates issued after the previous training was completed indicating the type of training, the instructor’s name, date and location of the training and numbers of hours, or a letter signed by your department’s hiring authority or training officer on department letterhead indicating the type of training, the instructor’s name, date and location of the training, and the number of hours are required documentation.
After your on-line registration is completed supporting documentation is required.
Documentation must be received within 10 days of the scheduled Instructor course. Hand carried documentation will not be accepted. Verification of previous training must be completed before the beginning of each course.
course is comprised for four 8-hour instructor level classes covering OC
Aerosols, Specialty Impact, Chemical Munitions and Distraction Devices. The
student will acquire a general working knowledge of products, both technically
and tactically, along with the skills necessary to conduct in-service training.
