About the Training:
This 4-hour course is meant to meet the training requirement for the new Iowa Law (H.F) 2647.

You will have 21 days from July 6th to complete this training at your own pace. If you begin the training you may exit the course and resume where you left off during that 21 day period.
If you miss the July 27th completion deadline, you will not receive a certificate of completion and will have to re-register for a future class.
By attending this training you will receive :
an understanding and respect for diverse communities and for effective, non-combative methods of carrying out your L.E. duties in these communities.
an examination of patterns, practices and protocols that cause bias in law enforcement actions and the tools to prevent such actions
instruction on implicit bias and the negative impact of bias, whether intentional or implicit, on effective law enforcement and thoughtful insight into the historical perceptions of profiling on community relations
instruction on de-escalation techniques, including verbal and physical tactics to minimize the need for the use of force and nonlethal methods of applying force.
