Mental Health First Aid is offered in the form of an interactive 12-hour course. Students learn the skills, resources and knowledge to help an individual in crisis, connect with appropriate professional, peer, social, and self-help care.
Mental Health First Aid teaches a five-step action plan to help those that are in crisis. Many learn CPR or general first aid to be prepared to help in a medical emergency. Mental Health First Aid aims to teach how to respond in a mental health emergency and offer support to someone who appears to be in emotional distress.
