Jennifer Swim is the Violence Against Women (VAW) Coordinator at the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy. The areas of instruction will be Domestic Violence, Sexual Abuse, Stalking, Hate Crimes and Report Writing. Jennifer joined the Academy in December 2017.

Prior to joining the Academy, Jennifer was a Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) Coordinator and Domestic Abuse advocate for the Crisis Center and Women’s Shelter in Ottumwa. As a SART Coordinator Jennifer was responsible for coordinating multi-disciplinary teams for the service area. In Jennifer’s time as the Coordinator, an Office on Violence Against Women SART protocol was approved for Wapello county. In 2013 with the state’s restructuring of victims’ services Jennifer transitioned into an advocate position with the Crisis Center and Women’s Shelter expanding to a twelve county service area.

Jennifer received her B.A. in Psychology at William Penn University and a M.S. in Public Safety with specialization on Criminal Justice at Capella University.
