First Line Supervision Courses

These five-day courses, presented by Northwestern University Center for Public Safety, will present a variety of topics to include: the role and responsibilities of the supervisor, contemporary supervisory  practices, developing effective leadership and motivation skills, positive supervisor subordinate relations, understanding diversity, managing conflict, sharpening listening tools, operational planning, decision making techniques, delegation practices, time management, and the standards of ethical policing.  The goal of this school is to provide new first line supervisors improved skills to perform their job functions.
