John is Instructor in the following areas: Lead Firearms for State of Iowa which includes Handgun, Shotgun, Rifle, Sub-gun, Sniper. Vehicle Stops. Physical Fitness. Judgmental Training F.A.T.S Simulation, Basic S.W.A.T. and Terrorism.

John C. Metzger's law enforcement career includes serving 1 year with the Iowa City Police Department and 10 years with the Kansas City, Missouri Police Department. Six of John's ten years on the KCPD were spent with the Tactical Response Team, a full-time Tactical Unit handling a wide variety of calls: hostage calls, barricaded subjects, surveillance, search warrants, crowd control, narcotics enforcement, decoy operations to name a few. After leaving the Kansas City Missouri Police Department, John spent nearly three years as the North Central Regional Sales Representative for F.A.T.S. (Firearms Training Systems) where he sold, serviced and maintained computer simulation firearms training systems in Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota and South Dakota.

John received his Associate of Science Degree in Law Enforcement from Iowa Central Community College in 1982, and he also attended Drake University in pursuit of B.A. in Criminal Justice from 1984 to 1986. John has also attended the FBI Academy Street Survival School held at Quantico, Virginia. He also has attended The Bullet Proof Mind hosted by Lt. Col. Dave Grossman, and Terrorism in America hosted by John Giduck (Author Terror in Beslan) and Dr. Jason Winkle of West Point Academy.

John is married to retired Windsor Heights Police Officer Danielle Metzger, and with their combined families they have four daughters, three of which still live at home.
